Many small business owners believe that creating a strong brand awareness is the domain of large corporations. To some extent that is true, but any company can build a strong and positive brand. Step one, carefully decide what your brand will say about your company and your products.
Look at ten or twenty companies with strong brands. Discuss those brands with your leadership team, and then create a short list of the companies you most admire and would like to emulate. From the short list, select the one company you will emulate. Do not copy their message, but write your own brand message.
Reflect your brand into your market. Create marketing assets that describe your products and services, but incorporate your brand message. Let your brand shape your internal processes. Try to live up to the high ideals your brand promotes. Let your employees see your brand and ideals in your everyday activities.
